Burger King Puts NFL Fans in the Hot Seat

To activate its category sponsorship of the NFL Burger King is bringing an interactive trivia challenge to NFL games and local BK restaurants across the country. The BK Have It Your Way NFL Challenge will culminate with its final stop at the NFL Experience —a seven-day family-targeted  event leading up to Super Bowl XLII—in Phoenix.

In a 40-by-20-inch interactive area with two game zones fans can test their NFL knowledge on two levels. They can play in a touch-screen trivia zone where they compete against each other in a series of 10 NFL trivia questions to be
answered in two minutes. Or if they make it to the next phase fans can sit in the “Flame Broiled Hot Seat” where they’re grilled by an emcee for answers to advanced trivia questions. Participants receive NFL merchandise and BK Crown cards valued from $1 to $5.

“The objective is to engage NFL fans with our brand. We’re always looking to do it a little better and in a more provocative sense tapping into that competitive spirit of the fans ” Dave Root manager-adult promotions and sponsorships for Burger King told Buzz.

Fans that would prefer to stay on the side lines can opt for the third zone which features a green screen where they can pose for photos with a variety of football backdrops including passing the ball to BK’s icon the King himself.

The tour travels in brand-wrapped GMC Denali vehicles.  At the NFL Experience the tour will be revamped with a bigger staff and some additional features including possible player signings. Agency: Legacy Marketing Partners Chicago.
