Nokia and Partners Activate a Beverly Hills Demo Mansion
To promote the Nokia Nseries on the West Coast, Nokia invited area press, bloggers and retail partners to a bash at a Beverly Hills mansion. Upon arrival, guests were driven to the front door of the mansion in Nokia branded Smart Cars fitted complete with working GPS courtesy of the N95s.
Inside, seven rooms in the mansion were utilized to demonstrate different Nokia functions. In the main reception area and lounge guests were welcomed by a dj using the N95 to mix beats, while a vj projected Nokia content onto the walls. N95 staff demonstrated Rhapsody music service on Nokia’s N800 Internet tablet. In the study guests could learn more about N95’s online and video capabilities. The cinema room featured a device with a Lazyboy chair running Sling with video content through YouTube. The game room featured large LED video screens linked to N95s as controllers with new Ngage Play applications and live demos of gaming downloads. In the kitchen guests could pose with a model against the mansion backdrop using N95 phones. The garden showcased the GPS functions of the N95, and at the bar guests could order their drinks via Google Talk on the N800 Tablet.
A roving TV crew roamed the mansion interviewing and filming the guests to feed to a live editor. The content was edited into a final video that was uploaded onto a website and emailed to all guests post-event. The blog site set up prior to the event was viewed 364,703 times, reaching an estimated audience of 923,000. The event was covered by the Los Angeles Times, 944.com and the Nokia N95 was featured on the CW television Network.
