CAMPAIGN: ASH 2024
CLIENT: PharmaEssentia
FABRICATOR: Visual Communications
Design is in Our Blood
PharmaEssentia develops therapies for patients living with hematologic diseases. The American Society of Hematology show is its biggest event of the year. In the past, Visual collaborated with PharmaEsssentia and its agency to create exhibits that included an immersive 3D photo opportunity and an LED tunnel with custom content that surrounded visitors. For ASH 2024, we designed and fabricated a one-of-a-kind, 30 X 50 space that wowed attendees.
In early discussions, some client directives included “must grab attention from ASH boulevard,” “should be beautiful, unique, innovative”, “we want the attendees to feel like they are a part of the exhibit”, “we want docs to walk away thinking that Besremi is the solution”, “have the exhibit convey that Besremi targets the source of the disease.”
Since 2022, the strength of our design has provided a conceptual evolution for the brand. This year, our designer wanted to capture the essence of our client’s product and messaging but in an extraordinary way. Besremi is a drug that treats Polycythemia Vera (PV), a rare blood disorder which is characterized by an overproduction of red blood cells, often leading to thrombotic events. Our design included a one-of-a-kind blood cell sculpture, at the center of the space, that stopped people in their tracks. It quickly conveyed what PharmaEssentia is all about…helping doctors help patients with PV.
Some of the cells on the custom painted, steel sculpture were engineered to house massive, circular LED screens, playing dynamic video content with key product messaging. The perimeter of the laminated platform was fashioned with specialty ring shaped touch monitors, displaying a user-friendly interactive guide to the many resources that PharmaEssentia provides. The mirrored components, coupled with the skillfully fabricated acrylic spheres, reinforced the brand and the drug’s mechanism of action. The unique custom curved hard walls, detailed but subtle graphics and lighting accents throughout the space, complemented the centerpiece and completed the aesthetic.
The sculpture was a great talking point for PharmaEssentia representatives. Secondary elements to the space included scrolling ISI on vertical stretch LEDs, and Dragon’s Breath, a liquid nitrogen treat. Served last year, it was once again a line-forming hit that completed the attendee experience. We worked closely with PharmaEssentia and trusted partners to execute this monument, dedicated to PV patients and their healthcare providers.
