New York Comic Con may not be as big as the original San Diego event, but it is still hugely popular and brings in thousands of attendees and tons of great marketing campaigns. See how Comedy Central, HBO, and Hulu brought their television shows to life at NYCC with pop ups, VR, and more!

#SouthPark20 Experience

NYCC attendees had the opportunity to be a part of the South Park Universe in real life, putting themselves in their favorite iconic scenes with this 2D/3D build out. This awesome event marketing idea was not only a fun way to experience their favorite show, but also a great way for fans to show off their South Park experience on social media.

Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale Guerrilla Graffiti

Hulu had the greatest guerrilla marketing at this years NYCC to promote their new show The Handmaid's Tale, based on Maraget Atwood's novel. Graffiti signs were placed on the stalls in the women's bathrooms at the Javits Center (the location of NYCC) that read "nolite te bastardes carborondorum", which loosely translates to "don't let the bastards grind you down". This quote from Atwood's iconic feminist work was the most simple but brilliant marketing campaign at NYCC this year.

HBO’s Westworld Pop Up Space/VR

The biggest buzz at New York Comic Con was for HBO’s newest show Westworld. Fans were able to make special appointments to visit Delios, the company that runs Westworld, recreated in a nondescript building. After having a bit of time in Delios waiting room, fans were guided into a room to take part in VR that allowed them to experience Westworld. Check out the video below to see more of this awesome campaign.
