Bacardi Mixes Beats To Build Brand Preference

The Bacardi Live Tour will travel to 14 cities this fall bringing rum-based cocktails and high-profile djs to the 21-and-over crowd at bars and nightclubs in the Midwest and Texas. The invitation-only influencer events will feature a mojito bar and dedicated mojito area a 20-member brand ambassador team and professional dancers. Attendees will be encouraged to use Bacardi-provided flip cameras or their own cameras or smartphones to instantly print snapshots taken on-site to a Bluetooth printer.

Prominent turntable legends including Mixmaster Mike (of Beastie Boys fame) DJ Z-Trip and DJ JS-1 will headline the events mixing and mashing up music and creating one-of-a-kind experiences at each location. Bacardi empowers its contracted djs to act as musical curators for the tour and invites them to bring out other djs and artists they’ve worked with in the past to the Bacardi events. The resulting buzz in the dj community combined with the brand’s in-market pre-promotion helps fuel excitement for the events among the brand’s 21-to-24-year-old target.

“These consumers are already involved in music and they’re already involved in events and if we can put together that experience in a meaningful way it adds to their night out ” Billy Melnyk experiential marketing manager at Bacardi told Buzz.

The tour kicks off this Saturday Sept. 6 in Columbia MO and will travel to 14 cities including Austin Cleveland Dallas and Minneapolis before wrapping up Nov. 8. Agency: Javelin St. Louis.
