Mobile Marketing: Dick’s Sporting Goods Launches First Tour

Dick’s Sporting Goods has launched a 20-market mobile tour that features 10 tented activity areas focusing on outdoor sports.

The Dick’s Outdoor Adventure Tour—the company’s first-ever mobile effort—features an 80-foot-by-120-foot setup with activities ranging from a lure demonstration tank to a paddling pool where consumers can test out kayaks. In addition to the tents the 53-foot trailer converts into an air-soft shooting gallery. Guests also can get green-screen photos in front of a variety of outdoors-themed backdrops and Dick’s is handing out gear tags with outdoor-sports motifs. Representatives from Dick’s vendors are on hand for product  demos.

“We’re demonstrating that we are the destination for the outdoor enthusiast whether it’s a family that’s camping or an avid kayaker or a fisherman ” Jeff Hennion cmo for Dick’s told Buzz. “We have the products that they’re looking for and the purpose of the tour is to demonstrate that.”
