Gillette Gives Away Shaves and Gathers Feedback at ProGlide Challenge Events
Even though it’s new razor, the Fusion ProGlide, won’t be on shelves until June 6, Gillette is getting the word out now with two recent tryout events in New York City. On April 7 at Times Square and April 10 next to the Flatiron Building at Fifth and Broadway, the brand set up the “ProGlide Challenge” where men pitted their five o’clock shadows against the new razor’s five blades and vibrating handle, with the assistance of several of Gillette’s soothing lotions and creams.

L’Oreal Cleans up on College Campuses
L’Oreal Paris is giving facial cleansing consultations at college campuses to promote its new Go 360 Clean facial cleanser. Kicked off at California State University in Long Beach on March 17, the Go Beyond Clean College Campus Tour is hitting 10 campuses through April 27. “The objective is to create an on-campus experience that builds trial and awareness,” Jennifer Paganini, assistant vp-consumer promotions and alliances and events at L’Oreal, told Buzz. “It’s a very innovative product and we want to establish it as the face cleansing solution for men and women within this audience.”

Green is the new red
Much like Vancouver’s ski slopes, Coca-Cola went ultra-green at this year’s Olympic Games. As the longest-standing Olympic sponsor on the roster, this year Coke committed to executing a completely carbon-neutral event presence, and according to inhouse estimates, the beverage giant succeeded. The initiative was part of the Vancouver Olympic Committee’s (VANOC’s) Vancouver 2010 Sustainability Star program. The program recognizes initiatives by Games partners, sponsors and VANOC that demonstrate positive and measurable social, economic and environmental benefits.
