Bravo Promos Show With Free Hair Styling
To promote the second season of “Shear Genius ” cable net Bravo last month offered New Yorkers free blowouts by the show’s 12 contestants in a one-day Times Square pop-up hair salon. The first 100 guests in line for a blowout received a gift bag brimming with Nexxus hair products.
A key design element: 10 uniquely-themed salon chairs designed by art students at the New York School of Visual Arts.

Canadian Club Teams Up With Movember Foundation
Beam Global’s Canadian Club whisky is partnering with the Movember Foundation an organization created to raise funds and drive awareness about prostate cancer for a promotion that encourages men to grow and groom a “Mo”—Australian slang for moustache—in November.
The brand is challenging consumers Beam Global employees and distributor partners to grow the best moustache and raise money for the Movember organization. -

Sheraton Employees Promote New Service
To create awareness for its Microsoft-powered Link@Sheraton service 600 Sheraton employees were bussed from its White Plains New York Starwood headquarters to work from Central Park from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sept. 15. Dubbing it the Sheraton Global Out of the Office Day the company organized similar events that day at locations in Sydney Australia; Shanghai China; and Lisbon Portugal.

Cartoon Network Creates Buzz For Star Wars Series
To create buzz for new series “Star Wars: The Clone Wars ” Cartoon Network is hitting eight malls through Nov. 9 with activities targeting kids and tweens (adults can play too). The network picked malls to reach an across the board demo in one shot.
“We also wanted the opportunity to get foot traffic with the traditional Star Wars franchise fans now adults and some parents ” Brenda Freeman cmo-young adults and kids media at Turner Broadcasting’s Animation told Buzz.

Health Magazine Connects At L.A. Race
To connect with participants at the L.A. Cancer Challenge on Oct. 26 Health magazine activated its sponsorship with a presence that tied into editorial content from the magazine.
The brand set up a smoothie bar and a lounge where racers and spectators could sit back and relax with a copy of its latest edition of the magazine. The smoothie recipes were from an article in the magazine’s October issue.
