Fashion Week Bids Farewell to Bryant Park
After 18 years of pitching its iconic tents at Bryant Park, New York’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week has uprooted the stakes. This fall the show moved to Lincoln Center, a venue farther from the Garment District, yet considered a hub of refined culture and art. EM scoped out the new digs and chatted with IMG’s Christina Neault, executive producer of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week/IMG Fashion, about the move.

American Idol Takes the Show on the Road
To drive tune-in and generate excitement for its tenth season, FOX and “American Idol” have launched a 16-city Idol Across America tour. The tour kicked off on Jan. 19, and is traveling in a wrapped bio-diesel motor coach covered in images of this year’s judges, who include Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler, Randy Jackson and host Ryan Seacrest. The tour runs through Feb. 26.

Financial Company Infinium Turns to Flash Mob for Team Building
They had done it all—scavenger hunts, trust exercises, walking on fire—you name it. But this year, the Chicago-based financial services company Infinium Capital Management made their traders perform a choreographed dance in public at Millennium Park’s skating rink on Jan. 8. The stunt was part of the company’s Vision Night 2011, which is its official kick off to the New Year.

Fox Searchlight Insurance Agency Pops Up at Sundance
To create awareness for “Cedar Rapids,” a new film that opens on Feb. 11, producer Fox Searchlight at the Sundance Film Festival created a pop-up “insurance” agency inspired by the film that for four days offered festival-goers, the press and general public a respite from the cold with free WiFi, hot beverages and other perks.
