Kawasaki Launches New Ninjas in Times Square

Kawasaki is going all ninja in Times Square on Thursday, Sept. 13, for the launch of its two newest Ninja motorcycles at the Ninja Times Square Takeover. The Japanese performance motorcycle brand will introduce New Yorkers to the latest Ninjas from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. inside the two-block long celebration.

Jason Britton, stunt rider and host of “Super Bikes” on the Speed channel will be performing freestyle stunt rides throughout the day, and nine-time AMA Prostar drag racing champion Rickey Gadson will offer racing tips to attendees, including how to get a good start through his racing simulator. The launch event will be at 2 p.m. Music’s going to be pumping, kids will have a shot at some face painting and some green M&M’s in the Little Ninjas Zone, the brand is going to show off some classic and custom speed bikes and a showroom of more than 100 current models, and Kawasaki plans to give away several of the 2013 Ninjas to a few lucky riders. Monster Energy, co-sponsor of Kawasaki racing, will be on hand too, with the Monster Kawasaki race truck. The vehicle will show off the latest race bike tech, and of course, Monster drink samples will be flowing.

“Because we’re in Times Square, we’re not just going to get enthusiasts. There will be some great activities for newbies and hard-core fans,” Chris Brull, marketing director at Kawasaki, told Buzz. “We’re not doing a dealer meeting this year for the first time.
