Who drinks top shelf whisky? Well, we know Errol Flynn, Jimmy Stewart and George Bernard Shaw did. Even Bogey famously regretted, “I should never have switched from Scotch to martinis.” While these iconic manly men helped establish the sense of class and style that Scotch carried with it decades ago, many whisky brands more recently have found themselves struggling to make their drinks relevant to a modern male audience.

Educational Charity TopSpin Serves Up Ping-Pong for Kids
Now in its third year, TopSpin, a ping-pong tournament and fundraising event for the professional sports industry, has expanded from New York City to include events in Chicago, San Francisco, and at least one other city, yet to be determined. On Dec. 8 in New York City, the group hosted more than 200 players and 1,000 guests in a loft in SoHo where they played, partied and raised money.

GM Rocks Chevrolet Trailblazer Launch in Dubai
Chevrolet this year executed the Dubai International Motor Show’s first-ever experiential vehicle launch. The Dubai show is typically locked down tighter than the plans for next year’s El Camino concept, but for the global launch of its Trailblazer SUV, Chevrolet needed to break with tradition. The brand unleashed a classic experience on the industry insiders and automotive media with the help of show organizers to steal the limelight from competitors with the first-ever global launch hosted at the Motor Show from Nov. 10 to 14.

Chrysler Opens Throttle With Ride-and-Drive
The Chrysler Group brought its ride-and-drive expertise to bear on its entire family of brands and created what it called the Ultimate Ride and Drive Experience for show goers at the Los Angeles Auto Show, which ended Sunday, Nov. 27. The experience enabled consumers to get behind the wheel and experience Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram Truck and Fiat vehicles first hand, all together in a course designed to show off each brand’s key features. The route was set up in and around the Los Angeles Convention Center area.
