    To create awareness for its Microsoft-powered Link@Sheraton service 600 Sheraton employees were bussed from its White Plains New York Starwood headquarters to work from Central Park from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sept. 15. Dubbing it the Sheraton Global Out of the Office Day the company organized similar events that day at locations in Sydney Australia; Shanghai China; and Lisbon Portugal.

  • Cartoon Network Creates Buzz For Star Wars Series

    To create buzz for new series “Star Wars: The Clone Wars ” Cartoon Network is hitting eight malls through Nov. 9 with activities targeting kids and tweens (adults can play too). The network picked malls to reach an across the board demo in one shot.

    “We also wanted the opportunity to get foot traffic with the traditional Star Wars franchise fans now adults and some parents ” Brenda Freeman cmo-young adults and kids media at Turner Broadcasting’s Animation told Buzz.

  • Health Magazine Connects At L.A. Race

    To connect with participants at the L.A. Cancer Challenge on Oct. 26 Health magazine activated its sponsorship with a presence that tied into editorial content from the magazine.

    The brand set up a smoothie bar and a lounge where racers and spectators could sit back and relax with a copy of its latest edition of the magazine. The smoothie recipes were from an article in the magazine’s October issue.

  • Bloom Supermarkets Asks Football Fans To Break World Kissing Record

    Last Saturday Bloom grocery stores attempted to break the Guinness World Record for most couples kissing simultaneously. The brand distributed invitations encouraging football fans to lock lips with their neighbors during a half-time event at Furman University’s Paladin Stadium in Greenville SC which seats 16 000. The existing record was set in Tuzla Bosnia-Herzegovina on Sept. 1 2007 when 6 980 couples kissed on the lips at the same time for at least 10 seconds.

  • Vodka Brand Teams With Miss Russia Finalists

    In an effort to reinforce its brand among U.S. consumers Russian Standard Vodka recently hit nine markets with the Girls of Miss Russia USA tour. Claiming to be Russia’s No. 1-selling premium vodka and nightlife spirit the vodka brand traveled with five finalists from the Miss Russia pageant which is owned by the company.
