Office Depot will be a co-primary sponsor of Tony Stewart’s No. 14 Chevrolet Impala SS NASCAR Sprint Cup Series vehicle along with Procter & Gamble’s Old Spice starting in 2009. His car will have a new color scheme to reflect the partnerships.
The retailer is currently a NASCAR sponsor and sponsors driver Carl Edwards in a deal that ends this season.
“While our driver relationship will be changing in 2009 Office Depot will continue to use our NASCAR sponsorship to engage our small business customer to enhance customer relationships and to develop new business-to-business opportunities within the sport ” Mindy Kramer director-public relations for Office Depot told Buzz.
One tie between Stewart and the retailer that the brand plans to leverage: small business and entreprenuerism. Office Depot activates its NASCAR sponsorship with an Official Small Business of NASCAR promotion; Stewart is an entrepreneur and small business owner himself first as the owner of Tony Stewart Racing and currently as a part-owner of what is now known Stewart-Haas Racing.
