Green & Black’s Targets Chocolate Lovers

Green & Black’s is back on the road, taking its organic chocolate café to high-profile foodie events such as the Bon Appetit presents Chicago Gourmet (Sept. 23 to 25) and the Food Network New York City Wine & Food Festival (Sept. 30 to Oct. 2). The tour began earlier this year, then took a break during the hot summer months (when the chocolate would melt), and has since resumed.

The tour offers multi-tutorial stations where attendees can sample all 13 Green & Black’s flavors and learn about the brand’s Fair Trade certification and organic ingredients. The can take a fun, interactive taste quiz on iPads (or on the brand’s Facebook page) to determine their “chocolate personality” and receive a flight of three recommendations best-suited to their taste. Participants can then email themselves their results, which come with a link for a downloadable coupon. Green & Black’s global brand ambassador, Jenn Paulsen, also is on hand to meet one-on-one with consumers and help them find the chocolate to suit their needs.

Guests can participate in 10-minute on-site seminars on How to Taste Chocolate and activities to win prizes such as wine charms, T-shirts and tote bags. In the “Constructing Taste” experience, they compete in small groups to build chocolate tiramisu. In “Two Truths and a Lie,” they test their knowledge of chocolate.

Social media sites Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and Flickr also support the tour. Consumers also can enter the Taste Discovery Sweepstakes for a chance to win dinner for two at the James Beard House and a trip to New York City.
