RIM on Feb. 14 rolled out a 10-week mobile SmartBuilder for BlackBerry tour targeting owners of small- to medium-sized businesses. Among the stops was ConExpo-Con/Agg, the construction trade show held in Las Vegas March 22 to 26, where its mobile devices and services were on display on a small van pulled by a shiny black electric car.
At the show, attendees answered eight questions about their business needs and goals so that brand ambassadors could point them to the appropriate devices, accessories and apps. Attendees could then enter a contest that in June will award a $10,000 business grant in a random drawing. They also got to spin a prize wheel to win BlackBerry chargers, screen cleaners and other giveaways and scan a barcode on the van to become a friend of the tour.
At other stops, BlackBerry is hosting product seminars, guest speakers and networking solutions. Seminars are scheduled for Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, Orlando and Washington, D.C. People can learn more about the tour at smartbizbuilder.com.
