The 365-day countdown to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games has begun. Though many brands are still hard at work on strategy, the savviest are already knee deep in plans for 360° activation.

But in a city whose natural beauty is unmistakable, concerns over unpredictability and instability may threaten even the most solid plan A. When it comes to on-the-ground logistics like venues, transportation and security, contingency will be king at the Rio Games.
