  • Activation: The Home Depot Leverages NFL Via Community Efforts

    In addition to in-store promotions and a presence in Miami surrounding Super Bowl XLI next month The Home Depot will focus much of the activation for its recently announced NFL deal on a community affairs program.
     
    Roger Adams cmo for The Home Depot told Buzz that the company plans to create a community service-focused program that will engage NFL players—with employees and customers—in volunteer activities. “We are always looking for opportunities to integrate our sports assets with other areas of the company ” Adams said.
     

  • Marketing to the Digital Mom

    Today’s digital moms are anything but out of touch. They’re tech savvy widely informed by their peers and spending more time on blogs and social networks than ever before. A recent report by Razorfish and CafeMom revealed that 65 percent of moms use social networking websites like Facebook and MySpace. And according to the report they’re spreading messages to each other with increasing speed. Fifty-six percent text message 55 percent instant message and 21 percent use RSS to stay ahead of the curve. That’s right Wally—June Cleaver doesn’t live here anymore.

Besides their love of corn chips what do these two people have in common? They were among the 16 732 fans of Tostitos Race to the Bowl a live event driven entirely by social networking website Facebook.
