Dockers Event Dares Guys to ‘Drop Trou’
To generate trial of its new Alpha Khaki pants, Dockers on Sept. 17 held an Alpha Fan bar crawl that dared guys to “drop trou” to win a free pair and be entered for a chance to win a grand prize. The events took place at three bars in five cities—Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York and San Francisco.

Target Rolls Out Pop-Up Makeover Stations
Target this fall is promoting the redesign of its beauty department with a mobile pop-up tour where consumers receive touch-ups and make-up tips, free samples and coupons good toward product purchases. The revamped beauty departments received improved lighting, testers and other shopping tools as part of a $1 billion remodeling project across the stores that was announced last year.

Premium junior denim brand Amethyst Jeans this week launched a campus tour that through Oct. 5 will give away thousands of pairs of free jeans ($25 to $48 suggested retail price) and other gifts on a swing through 11 colleges.

HP Drops Boomboxes and Beats on Four-City Tour
HP this summer deployed a series of shipping containers retrofit to look like giant boomboxes to promote its HP Jam Sessions program, a buzz-building initiative designed to create excitement and awareness for the brand’s new Beats Edition laptops. The laptop is designed to target the youth market with its focus on music and high-quality sound.

901 Tequila Shows Consumers a Good Time with Free Concert
Every year, 901 Tequila, founded by singer Justin Timberlake, celebrates National 901 Day on Sept. 1 with special events that give back to consumers and retail accounts nationwide. This year it rocked out New York’s Irving Plaza with a free concert by the band FreeSol, which debuts its album “No Rules” on Oct. 11. Playing up its 901 theme, the doors opened up at 9:01 p.m. on a first-come first-served basis to consumers 21 and over.
