Toyota’s Fantasy Football Hall of Fame Gets Real

The Toyota Hall of Fame, which has lived online as part of Yahoo! Sports’ Fantasy Football experience since 2007, has entered the real world as part of the Yahoo! Game Day area at Levi’s Stadium in San Francisco.

“Anytime you can take a digital experience that has worked as well as it has for us, and bring it to life in a tangible form, you are going to get this great reaction of  ‘Wow, I didn’t know that existed. This is real… this isn’t just some gimmick that you have,’” says Cliff Ma, head of fantasy sports at Yahoo!

The Toyota and Yahoo! co-branded space features touch screens where fans can learn about the hall of fame’s inductees and multiple TVs for updates on the latest Fantasy Football news. There is also a Flickr Trophy Room, where they can take a photo sitting on the fantasy football “throne,” which they can then post to social networks, and an interactive experience where they can take photos to create a virtual Hall of Fame winners bust.

“If you think about the psyche of the fantasy player, they love to be able to celebrate their wins and accomplishments, and for them it can be about bragging and saying, ‘Hey, look at me, I’m sitting on the Fantasy Football throne,’ or ‘I have my own bust,” says Ma. “We want to create amazing experiences for our users. This is a celebration of what Fantasy Football is all about.”
