  • Tours: Kashi Kicks Off Day of Change in San Diego

    Natural foods manufacturer Kashi last week kicked off a seven-month tour at the Earth Fair in San Diego's Balboa Park.

     

    The tour will make stops at natural food retailers as well as local
    fairs festivals and other consumer events in 14 cities. Consumers
    stopping by the Day of Change tour can check out tents themed around
    living a healthy lifestyle including yoga cooking and sampling. One
    exhibit features a large cooking demonstration island as part of a

  • Live Translations: ‘Cars’ Brings Animated Road Trip To Life

    Two of the stars of the latest Disney/Pixar feature "Cars" are
    headlining a mobile tour. The animated movie is about a summer road
    trip down Route 66. "We thought the best way to get the word out was to
    take [the cars] on the road like the movie " Dave Wong Buena Vista
    Pictures' vp-national publicity told Buzz.

     

    The Cars Road Trip '06 presented by State Farm kicked off last week in
    Akron OH and will hit 41 markets before ending July 11 in Chicago.
    Scheduled stops include malls ESPN Zone restaurants and race tracks

  • Customized Events: Audi Tailors Ride-And-Drive To Attendee Preferences

    Audi of America is promoting its new Q7 SUV with "Streets of Tomorrow "
    a ride-and-drive tour that includes lifestyle demonstrations tailored
    to each attendee's interests.

     

    The events kicked off Saturday at Belmont Park in Elmont NY and
    the Four Seasons Aviara Resort in San Diego. Participants entering the
    venues are greeted by a concierge who discusses the activities
    available at the event (ranging from cooking demos to home
    electronics) asks the guests which ones are of most interest and

  • Grassroots Events: HGTV Throws Block Parties For ‘Restore America’

    HGTV is using events to complement its Restore America PSAs which
    highlight building restorations the network has done in cooperation
    with The National Trust for Historic Preservation. The network is
    hosting block parties for communities in markets where the projects
    have taken place.

  • Street Marketing: Zone Labs Uses Wallet Drop To Tout Security

    Zone Labs an Internet security software manufacturer just
    “strategically lost” 5 000 wallets on the streets of San Francisco to
    raise awareness of online identity theft and promote its product as a
    solution.

     

    Wallets contained collateral directing consumers to report their find
    at a custom web site; everyone who did was entered in a drawing for 500
    gallons of gas. The connection between gasoline and Internet security?
    The web site told visitors: “Identity theft is skyrocketing—just like
    gas prices.”
