The Guard Goes on Active Duty in Mobile Learning Center
The National Guard wants America’s high school students to know it is about more than just natural disaster relief and combat missions. A key part of its mission is about serving its communities, and to that end the Guard has launched the Mobile Learning Center. The program is designed to improve the performance of low-performing schools in science and math while raising awareness about the Guard’s community services in a no-pressure way. Sports Illustrated and Nissan Tackle College Football Fans with High-Tech Touches
Sports Illustrated has beefed up its College Football Experience tour, presented by Nissan for the fifth year, with high-tech interactive activities. The 10,000 square-foot tour footprint with a branded blimp floating above it has been traveling to college football games since Sept. 11 and wraps on Dec. 4 at the SEC Championship. The tour taps into the magazine’s top demographic of male readers, both students and alumni, which are key targets for local Nissan dealerships as well.

Concur Tour ‘Breezes’ into Events
Concur, a provider of employee expense management services, in October began a five-week, $61,354.03 spending spree to promote the Concur Breeze, a web-based and mobile expense reporting system for small- to medium-sized businesses. Called the $61,354.03 Expense Tracking, Not Stacking Tour, the effort dispersed three teams of leather-jacket clad “Breezers” on Harley-Davidson motorcycles who treated small business owners and employees to printing supplies or coffee breaks, and even picked up the occasional happy hour tab.

ESPNU’s GameDay Tour Goes Grassroots
Through Dec. 4, college sports network ESPNU is taking its newly-updated ESPNU College GameDay Tour to 14 regular season games at campuses across the country including the University of Alabama, Auburn University, Boise State University and University of Oregon. The program is designed to raise awareness and drive viewer loyalty by demonstrating that the brand is as big a fan of college football as the students are. The program coincides with the expansion of game coverage from two to three hours each Saturday, when the games are broadcast live.

Ford Fiesta Rocks at Red Bull Soundclash
Ford Fiesta on Oct. 30 hosted a pre-party for 2,000 attendees of Red Bull’s Soundclash, a battle of the bands held on Washington D.C.’s Pennsylvania Avenue, in front of the Capitol Building, that pitted rapper Wale against indie rock band Tokyo Police Club.
