Telus Touts New Phone with Personalized HTML Emails
To position the new BlackBerry Storm as a cutting-edge, highly capable multimedia device during the holiday buying season last year, Telus leveraged its partnership with Future Shop retail stores to get consumers some hands-on time with the Storm.
In the stores, brand ambassadors used the new Blackberry Storm to administer a short questionnaire and take a picture of each participant. Once the data and pictures were uploaded, a personalized Telus-branded HTML email was sent to each participant with a frame containing a short personalized message, direct link to the participant’s eVideo where their face is integrated into the BlackBerry Storm and links to send the email to a friend, upload to Facebook or MySpace, and enter to win a BlackBerry Storm.
Post-event metrics revealed that 50 percent of the participants who viewed their downloaded video either uploaded their video to Facebook or MySpace or sent their video to up to five friends.
