Sprite Offers a Backstage Look at Step Competitions

Sprite was looking to promote its sponsorship of the Sprite Step Off, a step competition series that featured 30 live events in more than 20 cities. To spread the word about the events and be perceived as a place to celebrate the creativity and originality of the multicultural college experience through stepping, scholarship and service, Sprite built a website to display the spirit of stepping and provide a behind-the-scenes look into the stepping competition itself.

The site needed to be a place people wanted to revisit and share with their networks so videos of steppers in action and of outtakes were woven throughout the site. To best reach and engage visitors up through the main event, the site offered an immersive Flash experience throughout. A portal encouraged step teams to sign up for the competition and get involved in “stepping” on the ground floor. Opportunities to share the site via Twitter and Facebook were also featured heavily.
