Creating buzz for Howard Stern’s jump to Sirius Satellite Radio was the goal. The Howard Stern Nation campaign revolved around a live webcast of the shock jock’s last day on terrestrial radio and his much-anticipated move to satellite. After his last show for Infinity Broadcasting, camera crews followed Stern out of the studio and aboard a branded double-decker bus that took the entourage to the Hard Rock Café in Times Square. There, the self-proclaimed King of All Media was greeted by fellow Sirius host Martha Stewart, and rocker Sheryl Crow performed to kick off the big bash. Dozens of media outlets covered the five-hour event.

The event was one of the largest live entertainment webcasts ever—more than 4.4 million streams of live video—and it generated more than 65 million media impressions. Sirius’ customer base reportedly spiked by approximately 800,000 shortly after Stern’s satellite debut.
