Siemens Draws Health Care Pros with a Vast iPad Wall
Siemens needed to introduce health care professionals at HIMSS to its new CareXcell communications and collaboration IT software solution. This software allows health care communities to speak to each other and streamline patient care. To show the power of that kind of technology, the brand deployed a 25-foot display of 188 iPad tablets that were linked to each other to create synchronized media showcases.
The whole technology suite was designed to illustrate for HIMSS attendees how the brand and its new software connect the silos of patient care to improve quality. At the front of the exhibit, the iPad wall greeted the strolling attendees. Every 15 minutes, brand ambassadors acted as crowd gatherers to greet visitors and invite them to join the five-minute experience. To sweeten the deal, the brand made sure every attendee knew that it was making a donation to Stand Up to Cancer for each participant. Using the wall, two professional presenters showed how CareXcell works. Throughout the experience, media played across the interactive iPad wall, continuously populating and re-populating the wall with iconic representations of patients, providers and health care organizations. Following the experience, the brand ambassadors connected attendees with Siemens representatives for deeper conversations and product demos.
The experience was certainly successful in bringing attendees to the booth. According to an exit survey, the presentation was a leading reason why attendees visited. In all, more than 2,500 people visited Siemens and the presentation led to 50 qualified leads and 50 private demos. Consider the communication lines open.
