Gaming App Engages Tech Savvy JiveWorld Attendees
To generate excitement and engagement among its tech-savvy and social media-heavy attendees, Jive Software at its JiveWorld13 annual customer conference decided on an event app that was useful and efficient, but also leveraged gamification to energize attendees. The solution: JiveWorld13 Game Series.
This in-app experience tied to Twitter encouraged attendees to earn badges for completing different tasks, from attending sessions, networking and offering feedback, to participating in session Q&As and posting photos. There were 20 badges in all including four secret badges that could be earned by simply participating in the event’s official activities, like yoga and running clubs.
In addition to this overall badge-earning challenge, Jive Software hosted daily instant-win opportunities for iPad Minis. Each daily challenge consisted of 10 photograph tasks that had to be shared on Twitter in order to qualify. There was also the Top Tweeter challenge, where in the end the top three conference tweeters were selected based on number of tweets, size of their network, variety and quality of content.
The results: over 10,000 tweets were shared using the #JiveWorld hashtag and the brand recorded a 50-percent increase in social activity and reach compared to the previous year.
