Forkless Gourmet Takes ‘Bun Meal’ Samples on the Road

If you think the name of Forkless Gourmet’s award-wining mobile vehicle sounds like a combination of Suzanne Somers and Ron Popeil infomercial products, well, you’re not alone. But Forkless Gourmet used its Bun Meal Mobile to spread the word about its frozen ethnic-meal-in-a-bun line and support retail distribution.

The bright red Bun Mobile sported a 25-foot sampling station, a freezer big enough to store 7,000 Bun Meal samples, and nine microwaves capable of heating 360 samples per hour. An inflatable chef’s hat on the roof increased the truck’s visibility at retail events; the crew set up tables at stops so visitors could sit and eat. (Setup time: a snappy 30 minutes.)

A prize wheel gave visitors a chance to win Forkless Gourmet products, and everyone walked away with promotional prizes.

The vehicle hit 153 events in 31 cities over 26 weeks, dishing out 67,000 samples, and generating more than three million impressions.
