EMC Unleashes a Tech Extravaganza to Address Data
Mention the words “modern data center” and the average person, even the tech-savvy EMC World attendee, gets a little glassy-eyed. It’s not easy to grasp just how deeply data affects our everyday lives. EMC’s Experience Future-Ready exhibit addressed that issue head-on, showing attendees exactly what goes on under the surface of the world around them.
Twenty-four towering LED structures displaying animated infographics heralding the age of digital transformation defined the space, which included a six-foot model city that displayed projection-mapped content on each visible surface. Guests explored the city with a tablet-based augmented reality app. Touch screen displays surrounding the installation showcased solutions for key industry verticals. EMC and Dell experts helped attendees assess their own future-readiness and created customized roadmaps for the future that leveraged EMC, Dell and Intel technology. In addition, a collection of digital experiences called “The Villages,” which sprouted from a broken-down, post-apocalyptic container, offered a 20-foot-tall digital avatar selfie experience that allowed people to dance along with their digital selves. A 36-foot tall, people-powered pyramid of light loomed nearby, flanked by massage chairs, a retro video arcade and plenty of cool swag.
Lightweight, scalable, curved LED screens showcased dynamic content and video that attracted guests from outside and satisfied guests from within the space. Projection mapping and a customized augmented reality app constantly changed visuals, communicating messaging more effectively than static displays ever could. Cutting-edge Z-vector technology, which recognizes faces and gestures, then applies real-time digital effects to them in 3D environments, helped create unforgettable moments of digital wonder.
