Astellas Meeting App Provides an Audit Trail of Engagement
Communication is the name of the game when it comes to navigating large healthcare congresses. With that in mind, Astellas Pharmaceuticals set out to create an internal communication platform to improve meeting management and event delivery.
With the lofty goal of unveiling an app that would be operational in less than two months for Astellas’ flagship event, the European Association of Urology (EAU) conference, the brand had to act fast. The app would need to provide a new method of disseminating information to staff; act as a communications tool to manage third party suppliers; measure competitor performance and provide an audit trail of all activity. For the brand, this was the opportunity to revolutionize the on-site experience not only at EAU, but across the brand’s portfolio of meetings and events.
The app’s variety of features was key to its success. Tools included QR code scanning, live polling, Q&A engagement, session registration and crowdsourced data gathering, in addition to communication tools including a messaging service. What’s more, pre-event reading material was held within the app which ensured that it would be installed and utilized. Ultimately, Astellas found that its app greatly improved method of delivering real-time information to the staff.
