Mall Marketing: Sharp Targets Upscale Shoppers with TV Lounges

Shoppers at Taubman Centers will soon have a cool place to kick back. Sharp is bringing AQUOS Entertainment Lounges which will feature the high-definition TV from Sharp Electronics to 10 of Taubman’s centers. The partnership is Sharp’s first national alliance with a shopping center developer.
 
The lounges are an extension of a tour that Sharp brought to Taubman malls last year. The AQUOS Entertainment Lounge takes the concept to a new level becoming a more integrated part of the Taubman shopping experience.
 
“Our collaboration with Taubman gives us a unique opportunity to engage an upscale audience in a relaxed atmosphere ” said Judah Zeigler associate vp retail and consumer marketing for Sharp.
 
The lounges will feature one to three AQUOS televisions with screen sizes ranging from 42-65 inches. They will display HD content from a variety of sources including live sports entertainment and news programming in each community.
 
The lounges will be located at Beverly Center Los Angeles; Cherry Creek Denver; Dolphin Mall Miami; Fair Oaks Mall Fairfax VA; International Plaza Tampa FL; Northlake Mall Charlotte NC; The Mall at Short Hills Short Hills NJ.; Twelve Oaks Mall Novi MI; Woodfield Shopping Center Schaumburg IL and The Shops at Willow Bend Plano TX.
 
This fall these centers will host a nine-day tour of Sharp’s complete AQUOS full HD LCD-TV line-up.
