CDW’s Technoliner tour is on a mission to bring its technology story to customers. The experience is housed in what CDW calls “the ultimate technology vehicle,” a 48-foot, red Technoliner bus loaded with technology configured by the company’s architects and engineers to be used as an interactive demonstration of CDW’s technical solutions and capabilities.
On board the Technoliner is a synchronized stadium video system, a high-density Wi-Fi network and a retractable 14-foot video wall, 15 network-connected HD displays, mounted cameras, and live video feeds and audio systems all wirelessly controlled via a mobile app. The gear is provided by CDW partners such as Cisco, HP and Apple. Two 55-foot touch screen monitors run a program called CDW Explore IT that drills down in an interactive way to solutions and offers content based on customer needs and interests.
Two 14-foot monitors provide a “wow” factor on the outside of the bus along with a state-of-the-art grill and Bottoms Up Draft Beer Dispenser (from GrinOn Industries, Indianapolis, IN) which, as its name implies, fills beer glasses from the bottom up.
“The vehicle is an effective tool to tell the CDW story,” Jim Mitchell, senior director, communications and advertising at CDW, told Buzz. “The mobile environment ties in with one of our major themes around mobility and takes our story directly to our customers.”
The tour, which launched in April, will travel to sporting events, partner events such as Cisco Live and works with regional sales teams to provide lunch and learns for customers. The Technoliner will be featured in the July 15 episode of Fox Sports’ “West Coast Customs” TV program. Agencies: Next Marketing, Norcross, GA; Build: West Coast Customs, Corona, CA.
